Jena & Craig - Friday October 1, 2010

My first Friday wedding :)

Jena and Craig were married on a beautiful Autumn day in New Hamburg. Their ceremony was held at Hillcrest Mennonite Church and the reception in the top hall of the old Arena.

The day was perfect - sunny and not too hot - and it was actually a little cold/windy when they had their pictures taken by the water wheel in New Hamburg, but they got through it and had a fabulous party/reception to follow. Supper was catered by Angie's Kitchen and the beautiful centre pieces on the tables were all flowers from Jena's Mother's fantastic gardens.

Jena's girls were glamorous in their sheek slate grey cocktail dresses, finished off with black pumps - not to mention the hot black pumps worn by the bride for pictures as well ;)

Craig's groomsmen were a riot and very helpful after the ceremony in cleaning up the church for me.

Their wedding day was perfect, as I am sure their life together will be. All the best as you start your new life together as one. I appreciate your trust in Details Event Planning and wish you a wonderful first year of marriage followed by many, many more.

(hot black pumps...woo woo)

Sad News....

It is with a heavy heart that I post today's blog.

I received notification this morning that the bride who was to be married next weekend through the Wish a Wedding foundation passed away over the weekend.

My heartfelt sympathies and prayers are with her family as well as the family of the groom.

Next on my list....

Preparations are in full swing for Jena and Craig's big day this Friday, October 1st. Looking forward to helping pull off what is sure to be a fantastic small town wedding! Jena and Craig won my services for Day of Coordination earlier this year at the Boutique Bridal Show in Waterloo. I am super excited to help them on Friday.

Next weekend will be a bitter sweet event for me. Details Event Planning is a member of a charity foundation called Wish A Wedding. This foundation helps terminally ill or disabled people realize their wedding dreams. Thanksgiving weekend will be my first event through Wish A Wedding, but saddens me regarding the circumstances. The bride of this wedding is terminally ill and we are hoping to give her the wedding of her dreams on Saturday October 9th. At this point, I am unsure if I will be able to post pictures or blog any other information on this event, but your prayers and thoughts for this couple are greatly appreciated. Keeping my fingers crossed that the weather cooperates and assists in providing wonderful wedding memories for this couple.

Wine & Cheese Soiree - Thurs September 2, 2010

Well, yesterday was a rainy, stormy day. But that did not stop the Wine & Cheese Soiree guests of Mark Turner from Turner Home Inspections from having a blast in his beautiful backyard. Complete with thunder, lightning and wine supplied by Joseph's Estate Wines, this customer appreciation party went off with a bang!
Guests sang and danced to great live music and enjoyed cheeses, veggies, crap dip and hot hors d'oeuvres prepared by Julie Parker, owner of Forte Catering.
Mark's backyard hosted this event, which ran through the afternoon and into the evening. The guests mingled and enjoyed the backyard beauty and hard work that Mark has put into his property this year.
Thanks to Mark for allowing Details Event Planning to plan this event from the beginning to the end by coordinating. We hope you and all your guests had a wonderful time.

Tamzin & Stefan - August 28, 2010

Wow! What a wonderful weekend August 28th was for a wedding. Not a cloud in the sky, sun shining and most definitely love in the air.

Tamzin and Stefan were married at 3pm on Saturday August 28th at the home of the groom's parents. The setting was magical - a spectacular outdoor wedding to end the summer. Complete with classic cars, trucks and shined up tractors, Tamzin and Stefan did it up in style for sure. A backyard wedding under a garden archway, followed by a fabulous reception beautifully decorated in the drive shed made their wedding day one to remember.

Tamzin was elegant and gorgeous in her satin and jeweled gown and Stefan was dashing in his suit. The wedding party attendees were a blast and helped the newly married couple celebrate until they departed for the evening.

Vendors for the day included BBQ Feast for the delicous supper and late night, Images by Elisa doing the photography (can't wait to see what are sure to be fantastic photos), Above and Beyond for the lovely decorations, The Flower Shop, Here's To You Bartending, and Party Productions spinning the tunes for the event.

Tamzin and Stefan are definitely made for eachother and make a wonderful couple. I really appreciate their trust in Details Event Planning to handle coordinating their special day.
Congratulations Tamzin and Stefan.

Up and Coming Photographer.....

My 4 year old daughter recently did some modeling for a new up and coming photographer who is also starting her own line of childrens' accessories. These accessories are the cutest things ever - check out some of the pictures she took of Beau below. This photographer is professional, creative and is sure to be very successful in the photography business.

If you are interested in purchasing any of her items or having her do a photo shoot of your children or your family or of your special event you can contact Brittany King of BRIN Imagery and Bella Mia Accessories at: bellamiaaccessories@live.ca or visit her website at: http://www.bellamiaaccessories.weebly.com/

Relocation a SUCCESS!

Recently, I helped to organize a residential relocation from Tavistock to Stratford. Using AMJ Campbell Van Lines for this relocation was an excellent choice. They are thorough, quick and a blast to work with. They did an amazing job. The move took approximately 8.5 hours and now the family is all settled into their new home - and a gorgous new home it is. Take a look at some pictures below of the move.

If you or someone you know is moving, feel confident that your relocation will be handled with care and expertise by booking through Details Event Planning. Moving is a very special event in your life, trust the experts!

Julie & Brock Parker

Hello All and Welcome to the Details Event Planning Blog
Here is my first blog which is very exciting for me.
June 5th, 2010 was my first run with day of coordination. Julie (McEachern) and Brock were married at Grey Silo Golf Course in Waterloo. The day was perfect as was the ceremony and the reception. Decorations were gorgeous and the Bride and Groom weren't so bad themselves! Check out the pictures posted below of Julie and Brock's special day. I am also happy to report that the day's planning went off quite well and I am looking forward to the next wedding on the agenda.
