Lisa & Mike

-September 20, 2014-

A beautiful and blustery Fall day was when Lisa and Mike said 'I DO', surrounded by their family and friends in the Hamilton area.  Their big day was amazing to be apart of.  I was so very honoured that Lisa, my little sister's best friend, asked me to help her coordinate her ceremony!

Rehearsal for the wedding was followed by a delightful gathering and meal.  Everyone was so excited for the day to arrive.  On Saturday September 20th, Lisa, classy and elegant in her gown, and Mike, handsome and dapper, made such a beautiful pair, as they do every day!  The church they were married in was a gorgeous setting for them to begin their new life together in.  Refined and full of glorious original wood structures and beams.  The pews lined the path where Lisa would walk towards her happily ever after!

The reception hall was extravagant and tastefully decorated.  It set the stage for a fantastic celebration of the couple.

Thank you Lisa and Mike for allowing me to participate in a small part of your big day.  I am so appreciative that you trusted me to ensure your ceremony went smoothly.  I wish you nothing but love and happiness in your lives together.  Cheers.

Sarah & Ryan

Since I am recently back in the game, it's time to update on what's been going on in my wedding planning world in the last year and a half!  Even though I was not officially "planning" during that time, I was fortunate enough to be involved and assist with two beautiful weddings.

The first wedding was that of my best friend Sarah and her, now husband, Ryan.

Sarah and Ryan were married on June 15th, 2013.  It was such a great day for a wedding.  Being in their wedding party was an added bonus of course!  The couple held their ceremony and reception at The Pines in KW.  It was a beautiful venue for a wedding.  The lower level was used for the ceremony as well as housed the bar and the dance floor.

The upper level was the perfect setting for the dinner set up.  Sarah and Ryan used Kim Rasokas of The Creative Bride for their decorations and their wedding flowers.  As always, both were amazing!
The girls bouquets were perfect, and Sarah's bridal bouquet was stunning!

Kim handled the decor for the dinner tables.  Centre pieces were exactly as Sarah pictured they would be!  Kim is a very talented decorator and florist!

Prior to the ceremony the couple decided to have a Grand Reveal.

This is something a lot of engaged couples are planning.  The reveal happens first.  Then the couple and their bridal party do their pictures and THEN onto the ceremony.  Taking picture before the wedding ceremony actually removes some of the pressure and tight time lines that are present when trying to coodinate timing for the day.  Once the pictures were taken at various locations in KW, it was onto getting hitched!  The guests enjoyed some music and drinks after the ceremony while some family photos were shot.  From there dinner, speeches and a fantastic dance finished off their day.
Sarah and Ryan are now expecting their first baby in January 2015!  We are all so very excited to meet Baby D and wish you all the best in the next stage of your lives together.  Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your planning and coordinating.  But most importantly, for allowing me to stand beside you as you both vowed to love one another for the rest of your lives.  Love you both.

Time has flown by so very quickly......

I look back and wonder where the last two years went.  I've had the great pleasure of contracting out my wedding coordination services in the last few months and it has renewed my passion for event planning.  I had forgotten how much I LOVE helping brides and grooms plan and execute their special day!  As such, I am back in the saddle and would love to keep the momentum going.

I have recently assisted The Creative Bride with 3 beautiful and uniquie weddings, with 2 left go to on the schedule.  I am very much looking foward to the next two weddings and cannot wait to see what wonderful ideas and plans the couples have created for their wedding day.

If you or someone you know is planning their upcoming wedding, please feel free to pass my name and contact information along to them.  In terms of event planners, my fees are very reasonable and will fit into most budgets.  The comfort in knowing you have someone handling all the details of your day is priceless and something you wouldn't regret!

Wedding Invitations

If you are looking for original, beautiful and creative wedding invitations, there is one vendor you MUST look into.  Julie Hawkins of Julie Hawkins Original Art, is the best in the area.  She is an accomplished painter and designer.  I have used Julie for many designs, including my own business cards, pamphlets, event tickets and will very eagerly recommend her to all of my clients for their wedding invites.

Visit Julie's website below to see some examples of her paintings:

Going WAYYYYY Back!

ok so now we are going wayyy back to 2010!  Wow!  Seems like so long ago.

The wedding I assisted with was brought to the table for me via a new friend I had recently made.  Kim Rasokas, owner and operator of The Creative Bride (www.thecreativebride.ca), approached me about assisting her with a Halloween Wedding.  And even though I would have said of course, I totally jumped at the chance to work at a Halloween/Fall themed wedding.  It was so great!  Kim did such a fantastic job of decorating for the ceremony and reception.  She really is amazing at her job.  She is now the FIRST decorator I suggest to my clients.  She does such wonderful work, and her flower arrangements and bouquets can be seen on 4 Weddings Canada!

If you visit the below link, you can see the pictures of the wedding I assisted Kim with in October 2010.  The photographer also has nothing but wonderful things to say about Kim :).

Sarah & Derek - August 11, 2012

Sarah & Derek BENDER (YES! Another BENDER!!) - August 11, 2012

Sarah and Derek, now this was a wedding to remember.  Ceremony was held in Stratford at Victoria Park.  The rain threatened but we really thought it would hold off.  Ceremony started great...half way through there was a HUGE boom of thunder....luckily the rain did hold off until the I Do's!!  Then it was EVERY MAN FOR HIM/HERSELF!  Luckily the Bride escaped unscathed by the rain and it was definitely some great memories created.  The ceremony was held at the Shakespeare Hall and looked absolutely lovely decorated by the Bride, Groom, their families and wedding party!

The party that followed the ceremony made everyone forget about the rainfilled ceremony and the skies cleared perfectly for Sarah and Derek to get some great photos!

You both are so wonderful!  Thank you for everything and for letting me help you plan and coordinate your day.  Love you both.

Kim & Jordan - June 18, 2011

AHHHH!!! Kim BENDER (ya, my sista!) and Jordan Destun TIE THE KNOT!!

What a beautiful June day for my sister to get married :)  It was a great day and a super fun party (but what BENDER event isn't??)

Kim and Jordan got married on June 18, 2011.  Ceremony and Reception were held at the Highland Golf & Country Club in London.  The day was rather warm, but luckily we did not melt (too badly).  The grounds were great to take pictures on and the Club even let us drive around in golf carts!!! It was pretty cool.

Congratulations Kim and Jordan.  Thanks for letting Beau and I be part of your special day as well.
